About This Spot

Stepping into Naas Bakery is like entering a warm corner of Norfolk where time slows down just enough to savor simple, comforting pleasures. The steady hum of early morning footsteps and quiet conversations fills the air, inviting you to linger among the familiar aromas of freshly baked dough and sweet spices. This is a place where the day begins with anticipation—not for extravagant trends, but for that perfectly soft doughnut or a slice of cake that feels like it’s been made just for you.

The pace here is gentle, the atmosphere unpretentious and welcoming. Locals often find themselves drawn to the bakery’s old-fashioned charm, a comforting retreat from the rush of modern life. While the shelves brim with a wide range of pastries—from doughy, generous doughnuts to bright, delicate petit fours—there’s a genuine sense of tradition woven through every batch. The experience leans into nostalgia, calling back to simpler mornings and classic recipes, served fresh and meant to be enjoyed alongside shared moments and quiet smiles.

Beyond the doughnuts, cakes with thoughtfully crafted icing and subtle decorations hint at personal celebrations and the care behind every order. It’s the kind of place where a request for a cake with pink icing and delicate black trim is not only heard but welcomed—as if the bakery itself understands that small details matter in the memories we create with food.

Despite the steady stream of regulars, Naas retains a measured calm, where the flow of customers is part of the bakery’s natural rhythm. Early risers know to call ahead—especially for those large, tender doughnuts that tend to disappear quickly—but there’s always a variety of pastries and treats to discover, each offering a slightly different note of warmth and familiarity.

Naas Bakery is not just a stop on a typical day; it’s a gentle invitation to slow down, reconnect, and appreciate the honest comforts of a neighborhood bakery that has quietly held a place in Norfolk’s heart for years.

Naas Bakery brings back the nostalgia of classic, doughy doughnuts—big, baseball-sized treats reminiscent of what I remember from childhood, before the craze of Dunkin’ and Krispy Kreme. Each doughnut is freshly made, but the flavor falls a bit short. I tried one with chocolate frosting, and while the frosting was smooth, it had that slightly dense texture you get when it’s not quite as fresh as it could be, even though these were just made. If you’re craving an old-fashioned, substantial doughnut, Naas is worth a try, but don’t expect anything extraordinary in taste.

I always get my cakes from here. They are very pleasant and the cakes are fresh and moist. I asked them to give me a cake with pink icing with black trim, and it came out perfect, I was very pleased.

We stop by Naas Bakery whenever we visit Norfolk. Today was the first day we tried the chocolate frosted doughnut and Boston cream doughnuts. I’ve never had a chocolate frosted doughnut with absolutely no flavor. Absolutely no chocolate flavor whatsoever. It was odd. The glazed doughnuts are amazing. They are always so good. Lots of cookies, cakes and pastries to choose from. Prices are good. We got 4 doughnuts, 1lb of butter cookies and 6 large glazed twists for $30. *They do not accept American Express

The pastries, bread, cakes, donuts, and sweet treats are amazing! The people there appreciate their customers. I have never seen apple fritters and cheese danishes that big. I wish I could try a little bit of each one. Delicious and well worth the drive for me. I highly recommend them!
